Here is a video from National Geographic featuring two Western Lowlands Gorillas having a standoff. These guys are really powerful. Just look at the size of their arms.
It’s not often you get to see this. A zookeeper accidentally left a knife in the enclosure for some Western Lowlands Gorillas. One of the gorillas picked up the object out of curiosity. The gorilla picked it up safely by the handle (likely just luck), and put down before being called out [...]
We’ve all seen those ads for online match making. There’s even one for animals. Two gorillas who first met online welcomed their first baby.

2 gorilla babies in 2 days. A western lowlands gorilla was born at the National Zoo. The article has a not-safe-for-facebook picture (breastfeeding).

Timmy, the western lowland gorilla at the Louisville Zoo will turn 50 on January 17th. That’s exceptionally long for a gorilla, even in captivity (though not the oldest on record).

Judy sent in some playful Western Lowland Gorillas seen at the Bronx Zoo from early September.
This is a real winner. Some great close ups, and lots of actions thanks to some editing.

Jenny, the 55 year old Western lowland gorilla, the world’s oldest died. She had been suffering from a stomach tumor and was euthanized to prevent further suffering.

Over 100,000 Gorillas found in Congo according to CNN. The highest density ever found.
That’s practically a city’s worth of gorillas previously undiscovered by humans. A “Planet of the Apes” if you will.
