Gorilla vs. Gorilla Standoff

Here is a video from National Geographic featuring two Western Lowlands Gorillas having a standoff. These guys are really powerful. Just look at the size of their arms.

This video is from the border of Uganda, Congo and Rwanda. It’s always interesting to see them in their true natural habitat as opposed to a more artificial zoo.

Gorillas Seize Gorilla Sanctuary

Gorillas (as in militants not gigantic primates) have taken over the famed Virunga National Park. (which has been mentioned on this blog before). This is not good for the 200+ remaining wild Gorillas.
The Gorilla Protection blog run by park rangers is a good source for some info.

Over 100,000 Gorillas Found

Over 100,000 Gorillas found in Congo according to CNN. The highest density ever found.
That’s practically a city’s worth of gorillas previously undiscovered by humans. A “Planet of the Apes” if you will.
