Police Shoot And Kill Chimp After Attack

A chimp apparently being kept as a pet escaped and seriously injured a woman before being shot by police. Travis weighed 200lbs. That’s a lot of chimp to be attacking. Why someone keeps this gigantic animal as a pet is just strange.

Also an interesting tidbit:

In 2005, a different chimp escaped from California’s Animal Haven Ranch and chewed off a man’s nose and genitals.

A chimp chewed off a guys genitals? I really don’t want to know the rest of that story.

    That woman was an idiot for keeping a pet chimp. They are incredibly powerful and belong in the wild, I read somewhere that they are ~6x stronger than a full grown man. If you keep them as a pet they WILL harm someone at some point. Imagine them as a toddler with the body of an NFL player. That tantrum is going to be hell.
